3月30日月曜は米州開発銀行 (IDB) との共催で、Impact HUB Tokyoで中南米から来日中の起業家3名とミートアップを行います。2014年度の米州開発銀行が授与する、スタートアップの賞を受賞した3名の起業家。3人全員がテクノロジーによって社会課題を解決するビジネスを起こしており、今回はテックが社会課題解決にどのように作用するのかについて、関連するビジネスを起こして日本で活動している社会起業家とともに、考えて行きます。中南米で活躍する起業家と交流するなかなかない機会です。テック × ソーシャルが交わるところにはどのような可能性があるのか？どんなビジネスやコラボレーションが今後考えられるのか？同じくビジネスの力で社会課題を解決しようとしている起業家の方々、是非お越し下さい。

【When Tech Goes Social - Technological Innovations for the Social Good】
Impact HUB Tokyo is happy to welcome 3 entrepreneurs who received an award from the Inter-America Development Bank (IDB). These 3 entrepreneurs are all doing business that is related to how technology can solve social issues. We would like to invite all people who are also engaged in this type of field, and are interested in gaining new, innovative ideas on how technology can solve social problems. Hence, you will have a unique opportunity to meet 3 young ambitious entrepreneurs in the field of ‘social technology’, be inspired by their story and discuss a varierty of issues associated with this field of business.

①ビクトリア・アロンソペレス（Victoria Alonsoperez）
ウルグアイ出身。 大学では電気・通信工学を専攻し、現在はIEETechというスタートアップの共同創業者。IEETechでは、CHIPSAFERと呼ばれる電気チップを牛等の家畜に埋め込み、家畜の感染症や略奪などの早期発見を促す技術を開発しています。2015年までに1000体の家畜にCHIPSAFERを埋め込み、アルゼンチンとメキシコに技術を進出させること。将来的には、家畜の所有者だけでなく、最終的に家畜だった牛や豚肉をかう消費者が、肉製品の原料たる家畜の個体個体の生育過程をデータベースとしてみれる状態にすることだそうです。2014年米州開発銀行のカリブ地域・ラテンアメリカ地域の最もイノベーティブなスタートアップとして選ばれています。

She co-founded IEETech, a social enterprise that developed Chipsafer, a platform that can track and early detect anomalies in cattle health remotely and autonomously. Through Chipsafer the farmer can know where his animals are and get statistics about their performance to help him become more efficient and improve his production. Chipsafer can also help the farmer prevent epidemics and combat cattle rustling.
　　

　
②カルロス・エドマール・ペレイラ(Carlos Edmar Pereira)
ブラジル出身。脳性麻痺の7歳の娘を持つ、父親でもあります。3年前、娘がコミュニケーションするためのツールの必要性を感じたカルロスは、iPad用のアプリケーションとしてLivoxを開発しました。Livoxは障害がある人々に話したり、文字を書くことを学んだり、数学などの複雑な計算式を解くことを可能にするプラットフォームです。人工知能のアルゴリズムを使っているため、個々の障害のタイプに応じてプラットフォームは柔軟に変化するようになっています。現在ではブラジルで障害を持つ10,000人以上が使っており、現在は英語やスペイン語だけでない25の言語に対応している。ブラジルでの利用者を今後も増やしながら、海外でもプラットフォームを使う人が増えてほしいと願っている。2014年、米州開発銀行の最も社会にインパクトをもたらしたテックスタートアップとして表彰されています。
　
Carlos Edmar Pereira
Brazil
Carlos Pereira is a father of a seven-years-old girl that has Cerebral Palsy due to a medical mistake. Three years ago Carlos saw the need of his daughter to communicate. So, he created an app for tablets named "Livox". This app enables people with disabilities to speak, to learn how to read, to write and other complex concepts such as Math. Livox is a platform that allows anyone to create anything for any disability, a platform that also learns from every user and that it adjusts itself accordingly to every disability.
　
　

　
③カロリーナ・メディナ・グティエレス(Carolina Medina Gutierrez)
コロンビア出身。SokoTextのコファウンダー。携帯のテクノロジーによって、脆弱なコミュニティをよりよくするという彼女のパッションにより、イギリスの国際開発研究大学院で学位をとり、2014年にはIDBから必要とされているソリューションの中で最も有望なスタートアップとしてIDBより表彰されました。SokoTextは、携帯電話のテクノロジーによって、零細小売業者の注文をバーチャルにまとめて規模の経済をつくり、生鮮食品の価格を下げ、再貧困層の食品安全性を高めています。これまでにコロンビアの10の業者でプロトタイプし、現在ケニア・ナイロビの85の業者の生鮮品の仕入れを行っています。これによって、6,000人の最終消費者に安い価格で新鮮な食品を届けています。

Carolina Medina Gutierrez
Colombia
She co-founded her social enterprise, SokoText, which uses mobile phone technology to create economies of scale through a virtual purchasing group that reduce the cost of fresh produce, empowering small vendors and contributing to improving food safety at the base of the economic pyramid. Overall, SokoText has prototyped in Colombia with 10 vendors and currently supplies 85 vendors in Nairobi, Kenya. This allows SokoText to sells discounted fresh produce to more than 6,000 end consumers.

Impact HUB Tokyo opened its doors on the 11th of February 2013 in Meguro, Tokyo as the first co-working space in Japan that was part of a large scale global network with currently about 70 locations around the world. Based on the initial concept of a base camp that connects change makers to the world, we went beyond the notion of a mere co-working space for entrepreneurs, but instead aimed to create a strong community in which people are able to pursue social change, learn from each other, and share their experiences and networks. We have professionals from various different backgrounds working at our space and together they collaborate and exchange ideas and on contemporary issues in the fields of education, medical care and poverty reduction etc. can be solved with our future generation in mind. In the summer 2013, we have also launched our own entrepreneurship program. As of February 2015 we are a growing community of more than 150 entrepreneurs and assist them in realizing the change they want to see in the world.
